Word search puzzle uses 25 common vocabulary words for the family: das Baby, das Kind, das Mädchen, die Verwandten, der Bruder, der Enkel, der Großvater, der Junge, der Mann, der Neffe, der Onkel, der Sohn, der Vater, der Vetter, die Eltern, die Enkelin, die Frau, die Großeltern, die Großmutter, die Kusine, die Mutter, die Nichte, die Schwester, die Tante, die Tochter. All words include the definite article. 5 versions are included for each of 3 different formats - perfect for any level class and for differentiated lessons (a total of 15 worksheets using 5 different puzzles). Format 1 does not have the word list included on student papers in order to make it more challenging, but the list is included for teacher reference. Format 2 has the word search with the vocabulary list in English; students need to translate the words and then find them in the puzzle. Format 3 has the word search with the list in German; students should translate the words into English and then find the German words in the puzzle.
Worksheet has 11 different subjects and 5 verbs to be conjugated in the present tense (may be used for any tense). Perfect for when you need a little more drill work. 2 versions included.
The purpose of this activity is to use the ten vocabulary words pictured. This is a partner activity, each getting one-half of the page. Student A designates a box by calling its coordinates according to the pictures (“avere freddo e avere vergogna”). Student A then guesses which of the ten words are in that box on student B’s paper. Student B responds either “Hai ragione” or “Hai torto” and records the appropriate answer on his sheet. Students alternate turns until all of both sheets have been completed.
Role-play speaking activity. 10 distinct roles (have partners or make 2 sets depending on class size). Print on index cards. 10 people are on an airplane. They are to mingle and exchange information. Goal is to determine relationships between the 10 people.
PowerPoint game (4 slides) that works on developing memory and food vocabulary. 1 slide has general food items and 1 has fruits and vegetables. Food (25 pieces) enter one at a time (click to advance) and disappear behind the picnic basket. At the beginning of each round student says “Tengo hambre! Voy a comer” (text is permanently on screen) and mentions food. Round 2: mention 1st, then 2nd item. Round 3: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Can be played individually, with partners or teams. Winner can correctly recall all 25 items IN ORDER.
